Story Telling

Stories tickle the imagination and can develop and support memory and learning skills. Check out our online story time at Point Betsie Lighthouse. Our current target audience is from preschool to age ten and all those young at heart. This winter we are focusing on picture books that are set at Point Betsie Lighthouse, other lighthouses and in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area of northwestern Michigan. Our area is rich in history and ecology we would like to share with children of all ages. In the future we hope to involve storytellers from the National Lakeshore, the Zetterberg Preserve – The Nature Conservancy, and the Benzie Shores Library here on our website and in person, during story times at the lighthouse from Memorial Day through Labor Day. More details to follow.
